Aneta Markova


Aneta Markova holds a Master in Embedded System Design from the University of Lugano, Switzerland, and a Master in Electronics from the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria. She has been a qualified European Patent Attorney since 2017.


Aneta Markova started her career as a researcher at the University of Brussels in 2004 where she worked on various topics in the field of 3D visualization and medical applications. In 2011, she transitioned into the field of IP and started as a patent portfolio manager at IMEC, a world-renowned research center for nanoelectronics and digital technology. Aneta Markova joined IP Hills in 2019 as a qualified European Patent attorney.


Her areas of practice include:

– drafting, filing, and prosecution of European and PCT patent applications;

– providing opinions regarding patentability, freedom-to-operate, infringement, and validity of intellectual property rights, as well as advising clients in creating and managing patent portfolios.


Aneta Markova has expertise in various areas of telecommunication networks, communications technologies, and more particularly in IoT, radio and sensor networks, radar solutions, and systems architectures. Aneta Markova assists start-ups, SME’s and multinationals in drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent applications,  managing patent portfolios, developing filing schemes for strategic and non‐strategic research, ideation harvesting and training. Aneta Markova is a member of EPI, an Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office.


Aneta Markova is fluent in English and Bulgarian.
