EDUCATION
Frank Verbeke holds a BSc in Biochemistry-Biotechnology, BSc in Fermentation Technology and a BSc in Polymer Technology from HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Ghent, Belgium. He also holds a Post HBO degree as an ‘IP Information Specialist’.
CAREER
Frank Verbeke started in the Research and Development department of Bekaert in the Material Science Lab as a Research technician where he worked in multiple research projects on metallurgy and material sciences.
After 9 years he moved in 2006 to the Industrial Property department where specialized in IP information within a multinational context.
Supporting all aspects of intellectual property, he was involved in multiple projects.
In 2011 he joined IP Hills as an independent IP Information Specialist providing support to a wide variety of IP topics.
Frank Verbeke is also a (founding) board member of the Belgian Patent Information User Group (BEPIUG – www.bepiug.org), Vice-Chair of the Confederacy of European Patent Information Users Groups (CEPIUG – www.cepiug.org), member of the accreditation committee of the QPIP organization (www.qpip.org) and member of the training and education working group of the QPIP.

COMPETENCES
Frank Verbeke has expertise in various areas of mechanics, material science and IT. He supports the IP Hills Patent, Trademark and Design Attorneys and Engineers.

Frank Verbeke is a native Dutch speaker and is fluent in English, French, Spanish and has a basic knowledge of German.
