EDUCATION
Mariya holds a Master’s degree in Commercial Law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and an Advanced Master’s degree in Intellectual Property and ICT Law from the University of Leuven, Belgium.
CAREER
Mariya began her legal career in 2019 as a lawyer at a reputable law firm in Thessaloniki, Greece, specializing in commercial law, corporate law, and intellectual property law.
In 2022, she was selected as a Pan-European Seal trainee by the EUIPO and relocated to Alicante, Spain for a transformative one-year traineeship in EUTM examination within the area absolute grounds for refusal.
She continued her IP journey by undertaking a six-month traineeship at the Greek National IP Office, where she gained further experience in trademark examination and opposition decision taking.
Seeking to further explore the intricacies of intellectual property, Mariya joined IP Hills in 2024 as a Trademarks and Designs attorney.

Mariya has expertise in various areas of Intellectual Property Law, particularly Trademark and Designs Law. Her tenure at both the EUIPO and the Greek National IP Office has provided her with invaluable insights into the inner workings of IP Offices, equipping her with a nuanced understanding of procedural IP complexities.

Mariya is a native Greek and Bulgarian speaker, who is also fluent in English and has some knowledge of French.
